Quality cases for orchestral and band instruments. From piccolos to sousaphones, SKB quality means greater protection for delicate musical instruments. The world famous SKB lifetime warranty is an indication of the timeless quality and manufacturing excellence built into each product.

Established in 1977 by company founders Dave Sanderson and Steve Kottman, SKB Corporation manufactured its first guitar case in a small Anaheim, California garage. Today, SKB is recognized globally as an industry leader in the design and manufacture of molded polymer transport cases.

Vacuum, rotational or injection molded, these cases are engineered to provide protection for equipment utilized by hundreds of companies involved in diverse industries from music and pro-audio products to military, industrial and medical applications.

SKB even supplies maximum travel protection for consumer sports and electronics equipment. The familiar SKB logo has symbolized uncompromising quality and unsurpassed durability for three decades.

In 1987 SKB had grown to nearly $200,000 a month in sales, with Fender providing about half the business. SKB had moved into a 40,000 square foot facility in Orange and obtained loan capital to expand into new and growing case markets. Military contracts and cases for medical equipment, computers and lasers provided a huge growth potential. The company continued to expand the Music and Industrial product lines and eventually the Sports Division in 1990.

By 1997 SKB had 500 employees and opened their fourth facility in Orange, CA housing three massive rotational molding ovens to produce incredibly strong and lightweight racks, shockracks and industrial shipping containers. In 2002 the Mil-Spec product lines are developed in response to heightened travel and transport security issues.

SKB installed Injection molding equipment in the main plant in Orange, CA and developed the new Waterproof iSeries cases in 2004. From high-tech laptop cases, rifle and bow cases to oceanographic equipment transport.

In 2006 SKB took innovation by the hand again with the development of a new proprietary blend of hi impact co-polymer polypropylene that is 3 times stronger than competitor’s plastic for injection molded cases. With this new blend and increase in production another high efficient and energy saving state of the art injection molding machines that was among the largest in the United States was added in 2008 with an even larger injection molding machine to be installed by the end of 2013 for further development of cost effective new products.
